Other genres 
As a psychology student I've always been captivated by films bases on different disorders, drug use, coping mechanisms etc. As it opens my mind to newer genres and helps me understand my subject more. Here's a list of movies that helped me understand different mental illnesses.

This movie deals with different disorders such as depression, Ed, Psychosis, ocd that are shown in the protagonists friends when she's in the psychiatric hospital. 

When she gets her check up she finds out she has Bpd. She learns how this effects her relationship with her family and friends in an unhealthy way. She discovers other co-occurring that come along with it. By the end of the movie the Protagonist learns to be in control over emotions by using different coping mechanisms and therapy. 

This movie is about an introverted guy who is unhappy with his underpaid and average job. He falls into severe depression after loosing his job and isolates himself. He ends up deciding to suicide as he think his life can't get worse. But doesn't end up committing as he gets an anonymous phone call from himself at night. He asks for help and gets diagnosed at the end with Multiple Personalty disorder and schizophrenia that co-exist for him. His alter ego pre records himself talking and plays it at 5 in the morning.
